Opticore IT is currently searching for a Senior Network Operations Engineer to join a well‑established Network Operations Team supporting one of the UK’s largest hospitality businesses, with nearly 1 000 sites across the country. The role focuses on maintaining and evolving a large‑scale, multi‑technology Aruba network estate across wireless, wired, and SD‑WAN environments. It is an initial 6‑month contract (inside IR35) with the prospect of extension. The successful candidate will be required to work on site 3 days a week in the Dunstable area.
Responsibilities
* Act as a senior member of the Network Operations team, providing expert support across Aruba Wireless, Wired, and SD‑WAN (SilverPeak) technologies.
* Troubleshoot, configure, and optimise network services across corporate, retail, and data centre environments.
* Support and maintain Aruba Central, ClearPass Policy Manager (CPPM), and Aruba Orchestrator platforms.
* Ensure network performance, resilience, and security are maintained in line with operational standards and SLAs.
* Collaborate with architecture and project teams to support deployments, upgrades, and migrations.
* Assist in capacity planning, performance analysis, and documentation of network topology and configurations.
* Provide escalation support to junior engineers and help develop team technical capability.
* Contribute to the support and maintenance of data centre POPs in Manchester and London, with no regular travel required.
Qualifications
* Strong technical knowledge of Aruba Networks solutions (Wired, Wireless, and SD‑WAN/SilverPeak).
* Proficiency with Aruba Central, ClearPass Policy Manager (CPPM), and Aruba Orchestrator.
* Solid understanding of LAN/WAN technologies, routing, switching, and network security principles.
* Hands‑on experience with large enterprise network environments.
* Comfortable supporting data centre infrastructure and remote POPs.
