We are seeking a hardworking, committed practitioner to join us as the Head of Faculty for English for September 2025. This individual will also be an Associate Member of the Senior Leadership Team, overseeing the leads for whole school literacy and oracy, a vital position within our School Improvement Plan. We are looking for an outstanding specialist with vision, energy and excellent organisational and interpersonal skills to contribute to our overall success.
Responsibilities
* Lead the English Faculty (Head of Faculty) and contribute to school-wide literacy and oracy outcomes.
* Oversee leads for whole school literacy and oracy as part of the School Improvement Plan.
* Model professional practice, high aspirations and excellence within the school community.
* Support and challenge students and staff to achieve their best through effective leadership and CPD.
* Collaborate as part of the Senior Leadership Team and contribute to school development strategy.
Qualifications / Requirements
* An outstanding specialist in English with vision, energy and excellent organisational and interpersonal skills.
* Proven ability to lead, inspire and develop staff and students.
* Experience of contributing to school improvement and pedagogy quality.

Transfer and Employment Details
Compass Education Trust is currently engaged in discussions which are expected to result in the transfer of all schools to Harris Federation with effect from 1 September 2026. Any employment commencing from 1 September 2026 will not be directly impacted under TUPE, but if the proposed transfer proceeds, it is anticipated that your employment will commence with Harris Federation rather than Compass Education Trust. Further details will be discussed with you at the interview stage.
