About the Role
We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Level 3 EYFS Teaching Assistant to join a supportive and dedicated team within a specialist SEND school in Gateshead. This is an excellent opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of children and young people with a range of special educational needs.
As a Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with class teachers and other support staff to provide tailored support that helps pupils access learning, develop independence, and achieve their potential.
Key Responsibilities
* Supporting pupils with a range of SEND needs (including ASD, ADHD, SEMH, MLD, and complex needs)
* Assisting the class teacher with lesson delivery and classroom management
* Providing 1:1 and small group interventions when required
* Promoting positive behaviour and emotional well-being
* Contributing to a safe, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment
* Supporting with personal care needs
Requirements
* Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent)
* Previous experience working in an SEND setting is highly desirable
* A caring, patient, and resilient approach
* Good communication and teamwork skills
* An enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply for one)
