Site / Setting Out Engineer – Permanent

Salary: £30,000 – £40,000 + package (DOE)

The Role
We are recruiting for a permanent Site / Setting Out Engineer to join an established civil engineering contractor delivering infrastructure and groundworks scheme In Inverness, Highlands.
This is a hands-on site-based role, well suited to an engineer with strong GPS setting out experience and a background in earthworks, earthmoving and reinforced concrete / foundations. You’ll be working closely with site management and subcontractors to ensure works are delivered safely, accurately and to programme.
Key Responsibilities

Setting out using GPS and traditional surveying equipment
*
Supporting delivery of bulk earthworks, cut & fill and earthmoving operations
*
Setting out and QA for foundations, RC structures and associated civils works
*
Checking line, level and alignment of works on site
*
Interpreting construction drawings and specifications
*
Maintaining accurate site records, as-built information and surveys
*
Liaising with Site Managers, Project Managers and subcontractors
*
Ensuring works are carried out in line with health & safety standards
Requirements
*
Previous experience as a Site Engineer or Setting Out Engineer
*
Strong GPS setting out capability (Trimble / Leica or similar)
*
Proven background in earthworks, earthmoving and foundations / RC works
*
Ability to read and interpret construction drawings
*
Good understanding of site QA procedures
*
CSCS card (minimum)
*
Full UK driving licence
