Substance Use Practitioner Full-time Belfast £35,235 £39,513 per year Were currently recruiting a Substance Use Practitioner to join a residential treatment service in Belfast, supporting adults on their recovery journey through structured, therapeutic programmes. This is a great opportunity for a Registered Social Worker or Registered Mental Health Nurse who enjoys group work, values strength-based practice, and wants to work as part of a supportive, experienced team. The role Youll be working within a residential substance use treatment programme, providing biopsychosocial therapeutic interventions and building strong, collaborative relationships with service users. Group therapy is central to the service, alongside individual link work, admissions support and multidisciplinary working. Key responsibilities include: Facilitating group therapy and groupwork sessions Managing an individual caseload using a strength-based approach Completing assessments, care plans and risk assessments Supporting admissions and inductions Working closely with healthcare professionals and external services Supporting safe medication management in line with policies and legislation Participating in team meetings, supervision and ongoing development What were looking for Essential criteria: Registered Social Worker or Registered Mental Health Nurse Registered with NISCC or NMC (or willing to apply) At least 1 years experience in mental health or addiction services Experience using a strength-based model to assess need and develop treatment plans Experience facilitating group work / group therapy Experience working with substance use and complex health needs Knowledge of addiction and treatment models Comfortable using Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) Willingness to complete an Access NI check Willingness to work within a faith-based ethos Flexible and willing to participate in on-call duties Commitment to professional development Desirable: Post-registration training in addiction-related studies Postgraduate qualification in systemic practice (or equivalent) Whats on offer Full-time hours: 37.5 hours per week (MondayFriday, 9am5pm) Competitive salary: £35,235 £39,513 per annum Enhanced annual leave Free training and development opportunities Pension scheme and enhanced maternity pay Employee assistance programme for staff and household members Discount card for local shops and restaurants If youre passionate about supporting people through recovery and want to work in a structured, supportive residential setting, wed love to hear from you.
