Key Responsibilities
* Develop and lead health and safety and fire audits and workplace inspection programmes.
* Develop and manage systems to capture and retrieve audit and inspection information for effective reporting and monitoring.
* Undertake complex risk assessments for health and safety areas and assist operational colleagues in implementation.
* Manage health & safety risk tracking mechanisms, incident tracking, and improvement programmes.
* Advise on and implement changes based on current or new legislation and guidance, informing the Associate Director of Estates and Facilities of any risks.
* Develop and implement comprehensive Health, Safety, Fire, and Security communication plans.
* Promote a positive health & safety culture throughout the organisation.
* Provide departmental managers with advice on risks from inspections and monitor action plan implementation.
* Support development and review of risk assessments with Department Managers.
* Prepare and present Health, Safety, Fire, and Security reports at organisational forums.
* Analyze health & safety incident data for trends and lessons, lead incident investigations.
* Contribute to investigations of violence and abuse incidents involving staff.
* Support strategic planning and lead specific projects as assigned.
* Engage in performance improvement initiatives and communicate safety performance to staff.
* Negotiate to ensure compliance with health & safety legislation and standards.
* Liaise with health and safety enforcement agencies and attend relevant meetings.
* Support incident trend reporting and risk management across departments.
* Provide information for legal matters and external regulatory monitoring, including CQC.
* Develop and review safety policies, procedures, and systems of work.
* Lead on Lone Worker safety initiatives.
* Develop and deliver health and safety and fire training programs for staff.
* Maintain records of training and recruit/train Safety Champions, Fire Marshals, and First Aiders.
* Lead safety campaigns and promote safety workshops and forums.
