Driver / Warehouse Operative

30 hours per week over 4 days (Monday to Friday 08:00to 16:00).
We welcome people who have worked in driving, or inwarehouse environments previously and want to use their existing skills in theNHS.
Equally we are keen to hear from individuals who arepassionate about service delivery and keen to promote excellence in health carein a role that does not require clinical training or previous specificexperience, who want to be part of a highly efficient team, making a differenceto patients and clinicians.
Excellent verbalcommunication skills and a full driving licence are essential.

Main duties of the job
* Undertake the delivery andcollection of equipment to and from clients' homes driving one of our servicesvans.
* Gain knowledge of equipmentand be able to select it from stock and load your van based on the next daysscheduled plan, with the support of senior drivers and warehouse supervisors.
* Supported to gain skills forhandling equipment, including manual handling processes and risk assessments tolook after your safety and wellbeing when moving, delivering and collectingequipment.
* Communicating politely withqueries from patients, carers and staff when delivering/collecting equipment,phoning Warehouse Supervisors if help is required.
* You will be trained on how toassemble electric profiling beds which are needed to allow patients to comehome quickly from hospital. You will regularly deliver, assemble, dismantle andcollect these items.
* Cleaning returned equipment,maintaining a clean, safe warehouse, and undertaking duties associated with themaintenance of stock.

Qualifications
* Full Driving Licence
* General Level of education, literate and numerate
* I understand that I will be asked to provide original certificates to verify my qualifications at point of offer.
* Advanced Driving Skills
Knowledge
* Knowledge of Worcestershire area and ability to read maps
* Knowledge of routine vehicle checks/procedures
Skills & Abilities
* Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in English in both verbal and written formats
* Ability to plan daily route and follow set procedures
* Self-motivated and able to work without close supervision
* Ability to work with a team and share ideas
* Good organisational skills
* Ability to lift
* Prepared to handle dirty/soiled equipment following correct procedures
* Mechanical/DIY experience or interest

Experience
* Experienced in frontline customer services, or has an interest in developing these skills and experience and will be expected to do so on appointment to post
* Has worked in a warehouse environment for stock selection or has an interest in developing these skills and experience and will be expected to do so on appointment to post
* Multi-Drop Deliveries
* Working knowledge of NHS
* Experience of completing journey logs
* Previous experience in stock control systems
