Teaching Assistant – Primary SEN (Farnborough)

A welcoming and supportive specialist primary school in Farnborough is seeking a confident and proactive Teaching Assistant to join their dedicated team. This setting caters exclusively for children with Special Educational Needs (SEN), including Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), and provides a structured, nurturing environment where pupils aged 4–11 can thrive both academically and personally.
The school is purpose-built to meet the complex needs of its pupils, offering small class sizes, a high staff-to-pupil ratio, and access to specialist resources. Pupils benefit from a consistent, calm, and predictable approach that supports communication, sensory regulation, and emotional development.
The Role:
The successful candidate will work closely with the class teacher to support the learning and well-being of pupils with a range of SEN and ASC diagnoses. Responsibilities will include:
* Supporting the teacher with leading class activities and interventions
* Providing one-to-one and small group support
* Assisting with personal care and emotional regulation when necessary
* Encouraging independence and developing positive relationships
* Supporting pupils’ communication and social development in line with individual education plans
The Ideal Candidate Will:
* Be confident, proactive, and resilient
* Have experience working with children, particularly those with SEN or ASC
* Show a calm and consistent approach to behaviour and learning support
* Be a team player with strong communication skills
* Demonstrate a genuine passion for making a difference in the lives of children with additional needs
Essential Requirements:
* Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one at own cost)
* Right to work in the UK
* References covering the last two years

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
