We are seeking a Senior or Principal Environmental Planner/Strategic Environmental Assessment (SEA) Consultant. The role is flexible and could be based in any of our nationwide network of offices. It offers substantial growth prospects and the chance to work in a truly multidisciplinary environment. You will primarily support delivery of UK infrastructure and development programmes within water, transport and planning sectors, carrying out SEA on plans, programmes and policies such as water resource management plans, drought management plans, drainage and wastewater management plans, regional transport strategies and local development plans.
The role will involve supporting a broad range of environmental planning work streams, delivering integrated environmental services, and benefitting from access to experts across the business. We can tailor the opportunity around your interests and ambitions.
About You
* Hold a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Environmental Management, Environmental Assessment, Environmental Science or Environmental Planning accredited by the relevant professional body (CIWEM, IEMA or RTPI).
* Have experience in environmental assessment, including SEA, Sustainability Appraisal (SA) and ideally environmental appraisals and Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA) / planning applications.
* Knowledge of the UK consenting regime for infrastructure projects; experience working with infrastructure providers, utilities such as water companies, and local authorities; and experience within a consulting environment.
* Preferably an understanding of town planning, sustainability, landscape, archaeology, ecology, contaminated land and hydrology.
