Workshop Manager - Gloucester

Salary: Starting salary up to £46-50,000 per annum pending experience.

Hours: 8:00am-5:30pm Monday to Friday.

Due to business expansion, our client, a multi-award-winning family-run independent service centre based in the Gloucester region, is currently looking for a Workshop Manager for their busy workshop that has become well known for quality and great customer service over the last 20 years.

Reporting to the Business Owner and working alongside a service reception team, your key responsibilities as a Workshop Manager will include:

Managing a team of 3/4 Vehicle Technicians and their schedules.

Assisting in the workshop in a Vehicle Technician's absence or if there's a complex technical issue with a vehicle.

Monitor the workshop and keep customers informed of their vehicle's progress.

Sourcing and supply parts.

Competition of all relevant paperwork, including returns/credits and MOT administration.

Covering the service reception desk in a Service Advisor's absence.

Going through work to be carried out on customers' vehicles and pricing the work accordingly.

Other general ad-hoc duties when required.

To be eligible, you will live within a reasonable commuting distance of Staverton and will need to have managed a busy and successful automotive workshop, ideally including an MOT centre. As you will be required to assist in the workshop on occasions, you will need to demonstrate a high level of technical ability, either through an IMI/NVQ Level 3 qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair or through demonstrating relevant "practical" experience as a Vehicle Technician over several years. You will also have a great customer-facing experience, can lead from the front, and be able to energise, motivate and develop your team. IT literacy and a UK driving licence with minimal points are also essential.
