SENIOR CIVIL DESIGN ENGINEER

Manchester - Hybrid (3 days onsite in a week)

Contract: up to £440/day (outside IR35) | Permanent: up to £65,000 per annum
Our client is a leading engineering design consultancy with a strong reputation in the UK utilities and rail sectors. Known for delivering innovative and sustainable solutions, they foster a supportive culture that values wellbeing, growth, and technical excellence.
They are currently hiring Senior Civil Design Engineers to help deliver major water infrastructure projects across the UK.
Responsibilities:
Produce design deliverables in line with technical and water company standards.
Identify efficient design solutions through scopes and site visits.
Direct and mentor CAD technicians, graduates, and junior designers.
Prepare design risk assessments, reports, and specifications.
Estimate hours required for design packages and support project planning.
Attend and present designs at ALM, KM, and other project meetings.
Essential Skills & Experience:
3-5 years' design experience in the regulated water industry.
Experience with both clean water and wastewater infrastructure/non-infra designs.
Understanding of hydraulics, construction methods, and materials.
Knowledge of engineering drawing practices.
