Job Title: Mechanical Estimator (HVAC)
Location: Watford
Salary: £70K+ Car Allowance + Uncapped Bonus
The Role:
*
Prepare detailed HVAC mechanical tender returns from drawings and specifications
*
Produce Bills of Quantities (BOQs) for HVAC and associated mechanical works
*
Price Design & Build and Traditional tenders, including outline design information and employer’s requirements
*
Conduct full HVAC take-offs including ductwork, A/C systems, pipework, plant, insulation, and ancillaries
*
Build comprehensive cost estimates covering labour, materials, plant, subcontractors, and preliminaries
*
Issue enquiries to suppliers and subcontractors and evaluate returned quotations
*
Review tender documentation to identify risks, exclusions, clarifications, and value-engineering opportunities
The Company:

Established team specialising in commercial HVAC projects across the UK

Deliver projects covering Design & Build and Traditional procurement routes
*
Projects include ductwork, A/C systems, pipework, plant, insulation, and mechanical ancillaries

Work with multiple clients nationwide across a variety of commercial sectors
The Ideal Candidate:
*
Minimum 5+ years’ experience in a mechanical/HVAC estimating role
*
Strong knowledge of commercial HVAC systems and UK construction practices
*
Proven experience producing detailed HVAC tenders and Bills of Quantities
*
Competent in reading and interpreting construction drawings and specifications
*
Experienced with estimating and take-off software; Ensign advantageous
*
Excellent communication skills
*
High attention to detail, commercially aware, and able to work both independently and collaboratively
