2-year Fixed Term Contract (FTC) with a local authority
Summary
* This 2-year Fixed Term Contract (FTC) with a local authority aims to support the innovative new Partnering Agreement between the Council and Abergavenny Town. The primary objective of this agreement is to enhance the street scene within the Abergavenny wards. This role is crucial in maintaining and improving the local environment, ensuring it remains clean, safe, and aesthetically pleasing for the community.
Responsibilities
* Perform grass cutting activities.
* Maintain horticultural features, including shrub beds, areas of annual bedding, and hedge cutting.
* Undertake landscaping of open spaces.
* Conduct arboriculture work.
* Empty litter bins and carry out litter picking in open spaces, verges, and hard surfaces, both reactively and proactively.
* Sweep hard surfaces using handheld and mechanical means.
* Remove graffiti as required.
* Clean, repair, and paint street furniture.
* Apply herbicides, with relevant training accreditations, and/or remove weeds by hand.
Experience
* Related experience in a similar environment as described in this role.
Qualifications
* General education qualification is desirable.
* Must hold a full driving licence.
Additional Information
* Working hours: 37 hours per week
* Shift pattern: Monday to Friday, 06:00hrs - 14:00hrs
* Must hold a full driving licence.
