Mechanical Maintenance Engineer

RS Recruitment Agency is proud to be working on behalf of one of our most prestigious clients in the heart of London. We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join a highly respected company within the building services sector. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced engineer to secure ongoing work with excellent hourly rates and professional development opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
* Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance across a commercial site.
* Responding promptly to emergency call-outs and resolving faults efficiently.
* Undertaking a variety of mechanical and electrical duties, including:
o Minor installations and electrical fault-finding
o Lamp and ballast replacements
o Control panel inspections and maintenance
o Power distribution checks
o Emergency lighting tests and repairs
* Servicing air conditioning systems (AHUs and FCUs), including filter changes and cleaning.
* Monitoring and resetting chillers.
* Performing routine water treatment tasks, including temperature checks and monitoring.
* Maintaining pumps and motors.
* Taking regular readings from Building Management Systems (BMS) and UPS systems.
Candidate Requirements
* Recognised mechanical trade qualification (e.g. City & Guilds or equivalent).
* A minimum of 3 years’ experience in building services maintenance (preferably within commercial environments).
* Strong understanding of HVAC, mechanical, and electrical systems.
* A proactive, reliable, and self-motivated approach to work.
* Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
