A fast-growth engineering business which operates in the defence sector is seeking a Group Financial Controller to take ownership of financial operations across its international locations.
This business operates at the cutting edge of the defence and engineering industries and this position will be key in ensuring robust compliance and governance while supporting and steering financial strategy.
What the Group Financial Controller role will involve:
1. Lead and mentor the accounting team, promoting continuous improvement, accountability, and collaboration.
2. Contribute to strategic decision making and represent finance at senior leadership meetings.
3. Oversee consolidated financial reporting for international entities.
4. Manage international tax matters, including compliance and transfer pricing.
5. Ensure compliance with financial regulations (UK GAAP, US GAAP, IFRS), and mitigate risks related to international transactions and regulatory frameworks.
6. Act as the key liaison with auditors and professional advisors, ensuring timely, accurate submissions and identifying areas of financial opportunity.
Suitable Candidate for the Group Financial Controller vacancy:
1. Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or equivalent) with experience of working in international environments. Manufacturing, engineering or defence sector experience is highly desirable.
2. Strong technical finance skills will be needed as this role will manage multi-entity consolidation and overseeing audits.
3. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with an ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
