Autism Teaching Assistant – Full Time
Location: L27 (Belle Vale) or L5 (Everton), Liverpool
Start Date: Immediate or as soon as possible
Contract: Full Time | Term Time Only

The Role
We’re recruiting a dedicated Autism Teaching Assistant to join a specialist school team in either L27 or L5. You’ll work closely with pupils aged 5–16 with autism and complex needs, supporting their learning, emotional regulation, and social development. This is a full-time role, ideal for someone who thrives in a structured, nurturing environment and is confident delivering 1:1 and small group interventions.
What We’re Looking For
1. Proven experience supporting children with SEND, particularly autism
2. Strong understanding of sensory needs, communication strategies, and positive behaviour support
3. Ability to build trusting relationships and adapt to individual pupil profiles
4. Team player with resilience, empathy, and a proactive mindset
5. Experience in school, care, or community settings with neurodiverse children
What You’ll Be Doing
6. Supporting pupils with autism across the school day
7. Implementing EHCP targets and personalised learning plans
8. Using visuals, sensory tools, and structured routines to aid engagement
9. Promoting emotional wellbeing and celebrating progress
10. Collaborating with teachers, therapists, and families
