Position Overview
CNC Programmer (Sliding Head) – Location: Tunbridge Wells
Responsibilities
* Set, operate, and program Citizen Sliding Head CNC machines (4‑ and 5‑axis) to produce precision aerospace components according to drawings and tolerance requirements.
* Perform full machine set‑ups, including tooling, offsets, bar feeds, and first‑off inspections to ensure smooth production.
* Edit and improve CNC programs to reduce cycle times while maintaining quality and accuracy.
* Inspect parts using measuring equipment such as micrometers, verniers, and gauges to meet ISO9001 and aerospace standards.
* Complete production records, inspection reports, and traceability paperwork in line with AS9100 and customer requirements.
* Support continuous improvement initiatives, reduce scrap, and maintain high standards of machine care, safety, and housekeeping.
Qualifications
* Proven experience setting, operating, and programming Citizen Sliding Head CNC machines.
* Strong knowledge of 4‑ and 5‑axis machining and sliding head lathe operations.
* Ability to read and work from engineering drawings and tight‑tolerance specifications.
* Experience working to ISO9001 and AS9100 aerospace quality standards.
* Skilled in using inspection equipment such as micrometers, verniers, and gauges.
* Good problem‑solving skills with a focus on quality, accuracy, and continuous improvement.
Salary & Working Hours
£45–50k base salary (DOE). Overtime rates on top of salary.
Working hours:
* Monday – Thursday: 08:00 – 17:00
* Friday: 08:00 – 13:00
