Waste Operative – Mitie Cleaning & Hygiene Services
Overview
We are looking for a Waste Operative to join the Waste and Cleaning team to undertake the collection, movement, sorting, processing and dispatch of waste and other materials, including the compaction of waste and cardboard.
Responsibilities
 * Work and stay compliant with Health and Safety regulations.
 * Monitor the performance of equipment and provide support to the On‑Site Waste Coordinator to complete site objectives.
 * Follow PPE guidance and maintain a safe working environment.
Qualifications
 * Current Counter Balance FLT licence.
 * Ability to work outside in extreme weather conditions.
 * Good level of communicative English and strong attention to detail.
 * Excellent time management skills and ability to meet tight deadlines.
 * Pass a DBS check and drugs/alcohol screening test prior to starting.
 * Experience in Health & Safety training and understanding of waste management and environmental legislation.
 * Previous experience using static balers and compactors.

Hourly Rate: £12.60
Contract Type: Permanent, Full Time
