We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented AV Engineer and Sensory Room Installer to join our dynamic team. In this hybrid role, you will be responsible for the design, installation, configuration, and maintenance of audiovisual systems, as well as the specialist installation of sensory rooms for therapeutic, educational, and recreational purposes.
This role requires strong technical expertise in AV systems, as well as a thoughtful and empathetic approach to working in sensitive environments such as schools, hospitals, and care facilities.
Key Responsibilities;
AV Engineering
* Design, install, and commission AV systems, including displays, projectors, speakers, control panels, and video conferencing solutions.
* Configure AV components for optimal performance and seamless integration with existing systems.
* Troubleshoot technical issues and provide ongoing support to clients.
* Collaborate with networking teams to ensure AV systems are securely and effectively connected.
* Maintain accurate documentation for AV designs, installations, and service calls.
Sensory Room Installation
* Install and integrate sensory equipment such as bubble tubes, fibre optics, sound systems, lighting effects, projectors, and interactive panels.
* Ensure safe, secure, and compliant installations tailored to each client's unique needs.
* Collaborate with occupational therapists, educators, and caregivers to understand sensory requirements.
* Conduct user training and demonstrations for staff and caregivers.
* Maintain sensitivity when working in environments with vulnerable populations (e.g. children with autism, individuals with special needs, or trauma patients).
Required Skills & Qualifications
* Proven experience in AV system installation and configuration.
* Understanding of sensory room components and therapeutic technologies (training can be provided).
* Strong technical troubleshooting skills.
* Familiarity with control systems (e.g. Crestron, AMX, Extron) is a plus.
* Comfortable using tools and working in varied environments (schools, clinics, hospitals, homes).
* Excellent communication and customer service skills.
* Full UK driving licence.
* Ability to work independently with confidence, using initiative to solve problems and make decisions on-site.
Preferred Qualifications
* Certification in AV technologies.
* Experience working in autism-friendly or neurodiverse environments.
* Basic knowledge of electrical safety and health & safety regulations.
* DBS check or willingness to undergo one (for work in environments with children or vulnerable individuals).
