Quality Assurance and Governance Officer

Join our dedicated team in children's services at Barnsley MBC as a Quality Assurance and Governance Officer. This role is crucial in supporting children's social care and safeguarding services, focusing on children in care and fostering services. You will play a pivotal role in leading and supporting the delivery of our quality assurance framework and contribute to policy development and maintenance.
Day-to-day of the role:
* Coordinate full case file audits and dip sampling in collaboration with the QA team and Practice Development Hub.
* Undertake audits of social care practice, analyse results, and formulate management reports and presentations to close the learning loop.
* Present findings and learnings from audits at service forums, including team meetings and performance clinics.
* Support our quality assurance programme for services for children with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).
* Develop and maintain Excel spreadsheets of quality data and information.
* Act as the key point of contact for our TriX repository.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
* NVQ Level 3 in Social Care or equivalent.
* Experience in continuous service improvement and a strong enthusiasm for improving service delivery.
* Proven ability to advise and negotiate with a cross-section of internal and external stakeholders.
* Experience handling highly confidential, sensitive data and information.
* Proficient in using and developing a wide range of computerised information systems.
* Familiarity with governance and reporting frameworks where speed and accuracy are crucial.
* Knowledge and understanding of project management processes.
* Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with various stakeholders.
