Salary & package dependant on experience: £60,000 – £70,000 + package
The role & about the client:
Our client is an established main contractor with a strong pipeline of refurbishment projects across London and the South East. They deliver schemes across commercial, education, healthcare and residential sectors, typically ranging from £500k – £10m in value. Due to continued growth, they are looking to appoint an experienced Quantity Surveyor with a strong refurbishment background to join their commercial team based near Gravesend. This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-respected contractor with a stable workload and long-term career progression opportunities.
Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
* Managing all commercial aspects of refurbishment projects from pre-construction through to final account
* Preparing cost plans, budgets and tender documentation
* Procurement of subcontractors and supplier packages
* Reviewing and negotiating subcontractor variations and valuations
* Cost reporting and forecasting throughout the project lifecycle
* Identifying and managing commercial risks
* Producing and agreeing final accounts
* Working closely with project managers and site teams to ensure projects are delivered within budget
* Maintaining strong relationships with clients, consultants and subcontractors
The ideal candidate will have:
* Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor working for a main contractor
* Strong refurbishment or fit-out project experience (essential)
* Experience managing projects from inception to completion
* Good knowledge of JCT contracts
* Strong negotiation and commercial management skills
* Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
* Excellent communication and organisational skills
* Relevant construction qualification (HNC/HND/Degree) preferred
