We’re working with a lovely specialist school in High Wycombe that supports children and young people aged 3–19 with a range of complex learning needs, including autism, SLCN and PMLD. They’re currently looking for a class teacher to join in September – working with secondary-aged pupils on a curriculum that focuses on life skills, communication, and independence. You’ll be part of a genuinely supportive team, where your contribution is valued and staff well being is a key priority. What’s the role? Full class teaching responsibilities for a small group of pupils with varied SEN Leading a class team including TAs and additional specialist support Creating a calm, safe and inclusive learning environment Planning creative, accessible lessons that support academic and life skill development Using specialist strategies (e.g. SCERTS, low arousal) to support regulation and communication Working closely with families and external professionals to meet individual needs Tracking progress, planning next steps, and celebrating all achievements Being a key part of school life – contributing to a warm, nurturing team What we're looking for: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) Experience or a strong interest in working with SEN pupils Someone calm, consistent and nurturing A team player who’s confident leading a class team High expectations, a sense of humour and a positive mindset If you're interested, get in touch to find out more or arrange a visit to the school!
