The Role
As a Senior Communications Integration Engineer, you will provide subject matter expertise and Technical Leadership to support the delivery of multi-bearer, networked information systems from the experimentation phase, design, and delivery by transitioning them into service.
Day-to-day, you’ll lead project teams to deliver complex solutions forging strong collaborative working relationships to develop great solutions for both new and existing customers.
Your responsibilities will include:
* Being responsible for delivery and providing technical leadership for programme, project, and bidding activities
* Contributing towards the development of the company/customer’s strategic intent in the area of experimentation
* Providing technical leadership and support to the business both in delivery or programmes and bidding activities
* Providing technical assurance with an excellent understanding of appropriate technical standards that comply with statutory, regulatory, company and project specific processes and procedures
* Responsibility for design certifications, technical delivery plans, High level documentation, detailed design documentation, testing schedules and experimental plans
* Collaborating with multiple areas of the business across functions, resources, and activities
Essential experience of the Senior Communications Integration Engineer:
* A strong knowledge of systems utilising the full frequency spectrum
* Previous experience of requirements capture, integrations planning and testing
* In depth knowledge of commercial telecommunications technology i.e microwave, Wi-Fi, 4G LTE
* Extensive experience working within the communications industry
* A strong understanding of Systems Engineering principles
* Detailed knowledge of uncrewed platform communications requirements and techniques
Essential qualifications for the Senior Communication Integration Engineer:
* Degree level qualification or equivalent experience
This role is 37 hours per week based at PTP, Portsmouth. This role is on-site 5 days per week
Portsmouth Technology Park (PTP) is one of QinetiQ’s key facilities, focusing on advanced technology development and engineering services. It is dedicated to research and development, ensuring that complex systems are designed, integrated, and tested effectively to meet operational requirements. The facility utilises sophisticated modelling and simulation techniques to analyse and predict performance.
