Typical responsibilities include: Acute Medical Take Management of complex multi-morbidity patients Ward rounds & inpatient care Participation in the Acute Medical Unit (AMU) Supervision of NCHDs Audit, governance & service development On-call commitment (varies by hospital) Some posts may also include: A subspecialty interest (desirable but not essential) Ambulatory care development Virtual ward expansion initiatives Requirements Full registration (or eligibility) with the Irish Medical Council CCT or CESR in Internal Medicine Significant experience in internal medicine Salary & Benefits HSE Consultant Salary Scale 235,862 - 283,318 euros per year to work 37 hours per week, any extra hours are paid on top of that. 30 days annual leave 10 days of bank holidays Generous CPD allowance Relocation support Pension scheme
