Job Description

The role of Warehouse and Facilities Manager is responsible for organising the efficient and safe storage and dispatch of our warehoused products.

Reporting to the Directors for Delivery and Warehouse, you will manage our Scotland based Warehouse Team (East Kilbride) and be very involved yourself, in receiving, storing, picking, loading, and distributing goods.

You will work closely with other departments, including Planning, Purchasing and HR.

As a member of the Management Team, you will have a 'can do attitude', and engage and lead on continuous improvement.

Duties

* Manage a team including Supervisors and Warehouse Assistants to oversee the logistics of goods received, storage and dispatch operations.
* Day to day Facilities Management of the site, including maintaining a clean and presentable work premises, both inside and outside.
* With support from the HR Team, you will manage all aspects of employee relations and conduct, not limited to timekeeping and promoting an inclusive, positive and productive working environment.
* Lead in the onboarding of new recruits.
* You will manage training and ensure compliance with our internal standards and procedures for updating the training matrix.
* Ensure that Furniture Homes systems are kept up to date. Follow internal procedures, imperative to ensuring consistency throughout our UK sites. Orders must be correctly identified, picked and packed with correct labelling. Receiving and Shipping process paperwork must be accurate.
* Be responsible for the management of stock into the premises and space management in the Warehouse.
* Lead on stock taking and new control measures, account for all damages and losses.
* Strive to ensure there are no damages or mis-picks.
* Follow procedures for returning items to manufacturers.
* Environmental and Health and Safety compliance with the law and best practice, including safe handling of products, fork lift truck and pallet trucks. You will manage warehouse fork lift truck maintenance schedules, racking inspections, fire safety incorporating fire drills and alarm tests, first aid and COSHH.
* You will proactively ensure that all accidents and near misses are reported and investigated and preventative corrective action is taken.
* Manage adequate staffing levels, also the opening, closing and security of your site.
* Manage quality control – Work with Purchasing Team to ensure quality of goods delivered meets needs and expectations of the business, report any deficiencies and liaise with other teams to problem solve solutions.
* Work with our neighbouring business to ensure smooth relations and minimise access issues.

Person Specification

Essential

* An experienced Warehouse Manager, with demonstratable experience of successfully managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
* People management experience, including onboarding, conducting investigations and resolving concerns.
* You will be highly organised, able to use and share real-time information to increase accuracy and meet planned schedules.
* Computer literate, able to maintain computerised administration and communication systems.
* Experienced in the management of health and safety systems and the enforcement of standards.
* Responsible and adept at effective security procedures, stock control measures and aware of the potential implications that security breaches and stock losses would have on the business.
* Proven experience of building and lead a team, training and engaging employees, and improving performance.
* Change management experience in a workplace environment.
* Competent to ensure the machinery used in the warehouse is maintained.
* Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
* A true team player, focused and driven to work towards shared goals.
* Able to operate fork lift trucks (reach and counter balance) and other warehouse equipment. A valid and up to date Reach FLT certificate is required.
* Full driving licence with acceptable DVLA licence check (no more than 3 points and no drug, alcohol or dangerous driving convictions).

Desirable

* You will have gained your management experience preferably in a Warehouse, Logistics, or Manufacturing environment.
* Health and Safety training certification, e.g. IOSH.
* Trained in team leading, supervisory skills, or managing people.

Working Hours

7 am to 3 pm Monday to Friday, no weekends.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: £31,170.00-£32,970.00 per year
