Deputy Manager
* Annual Salary: £42,000

Join our dedicated team, offering a comprehensive residential service for young people with learning disabilities and associated challenging behaviour aged between 7-17 years. We are committed to ensuring the physical, social, and emotional care and development of the young people in our care. This role is crucial in maintaining high standards and compliance with relevant regulations, providing leadership and support within the home.
Day-to-day of the role:
* Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant legislation and ensure compliance with Children’s Homes regulations, Quality Standards, and the Children’s Act.
* Accountable to Ofsted for the operation of the home.
* Understand and work effectively with children with autistic spectrum conditions, severe learning difficulties, and challenging behaviours.
* Ensure the home provides a high standard of residential care.
* Manage and supervise the children’s home staff team, including recruitment, induction, and training.
* Represent the home to outside agencies and ensure compliance with statutory requirements.
* Engage in the planning and development.
* Consult with children and young people about their care and involve them in the running of the home.
* Ensure the health and safety of children, staff, and visitors.
* Support the Registered Manager in managing resources, financial expenditure, and maintaining a positive physical environment.
* Contribute to the referral, assessment, and admission procedures, ensuring effective placement planning.
* Promote the education, physical health, and emotional well-being of the young people.
* Operate within a key worker system and maintain confidentiality.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
* In-depth knowledge of the Children’s Homes regulations and other relevant legislation.
* Experience working with children with learning disabilities and challenging behaviours.
* Strong leadership and team management skills.
* Ability to work flexibly, including weekends and public holidays if required.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Commitment to professional development and reflective practice.
