The Role
To deliver and maintain a comprehensive integrated information, technology and record management strategy in order to ensure that the right information is provided in the right place at the right time, to support highest possible levels of diagnosis, treatment and care of patients and clients, to support continuous improvement of the health of the populations we serve and to achieve more effective integration between Health and the care services of our Local Authority partners.
Duration, Location and Working Pattern
Permanent, Full‑time
Base location: Vale of Leven Hospital (GGC‑wide post, can be moved to any location).
Shift Pattern:
* Week 1 & 3: Mon/Tue/Wed 9:00‑5:00, Thu/Fri 9:00‑5:00
* Week 2 & 4: Mon‑Wed 9:00‑5:00, Thu 9:00‑5:00, Fri 1:30‑9:30
Key Responsibilities
* Support effective clinical care by providing an efficient Health Records service to patients, medical and nursing staff.
* Ensure patient appointments for outpatient clinics, day cases and inpatient admissions are administered and processed accurately, keeping patient records confidential, securely stored and available when necessary.
* Provide efficient administrative, clerical and receptionist services to support clinical care.
* Maintain electronic and paper‑based patient records systems with confidential, accurate and up‑to‑date information.
* Maintain patient demographic and administrative data through continual checking and updating of the patient management system.
Requirements
* National 4 or Level 1 qualification in 3 subjects, including English or equivalent.
* General administration and office experience/previous clerical experience desirable.
* Computer literate with good keyboard skills.
* Previous reception experience desirable.
* Prior experience of using a Patient Management System desirable; training will be provided.

Additional Information
From 1 April 2026, the Agenda for Change full‑time working week will reduce from 37 hours to 36 hours. Part‑time working hours will be reduced on a pro‑rata basis, with a corresponding increase in the hourly rate to keep overall pay unchanged.
