Job Description
Location:
Manchester (in-person shoots, travel not covered)
Pay:
£250 per shoot (approx. 1 shoot per week, 10:30 AM – 5:30 PM)
About Us:
We are a non-partisan YouTube channel producing professional videos on news, economics, and current events, with a particular focus on the UK and the US. Our content is built around clear, evidence-led explainers that make complex issues easy to understand. We don’t push political agendas — our goal is to inform and engage viewers with accuracy and balance.
We are looking for a reliable, confident, and engaging on-camera presenter to be the face of our YouTube channel. This role involves presenting news-style and explainer videos on UK and US current affairs, economics, and politics. You’ll be working with a teleprompter, so your main focus will be delivering the content with clarity, energy, and professionalism — making complex topics easy for viewers to understand.
This is an ongoing freelance role, typically one full-day shoot per week (10:30 AM – 5:30 PM) at our Manchester studio. As the channel grows, there may be opportunities for more frequent shoots and increased involvement in the production process.
Responsibilities:
* Present news-style and explainer scripts on camera using a teleprompter.
* Deliver content in a clear, engaging, and professional tone.
* Work with our production team to ensure smooth filming days.
* Be flexible with last-minute script updates based on breaking news.
Requirements:
* Strong on-camera presence and confidence.
* Excellent verbal communication skills.
* Reliable and punctual — consistency is essential.
* Previous presenting, acting, journalism, or broadcast experience preferred.
* Interest in current affairs, politics, and economics is a bonus.
Details:
* One shoot per week (usually mid-week).
* Each shoot lasts a full day (approx. 10:30 AM – 5:30 PM).
* Pay: £250 per shoot, paid within 7 days.
* Location: Central Manchester studio.
How to Apply:
Please submit your CV along with either a demo reel or a recorded sample made for us (preferred) that demonstrates your presenting style.
