Special Needs Teaching Assistants – Winchester
A highly respected specialist primary school in Winchester is seeking compassionate, dedicated, and enthusiastic individuals to join its supportive team as Special Needs Teaching Assistants (SEN TAs). This is a rewarding and impactful role that involves working with children who present a diverse range of additional needs, including autism spectrum conditions, moderate to severe learning difficulties, communication and interaction challenges, and sensory processing needs. Successful candidates will play a key part in helping pupils develop their skills, confidence, and independence within a nurturing and well-structured learning environment.
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work collaboratively with class teachers, therapists, and other support staff to deliver high-quality, child-centred support. Your daily responsibilities may include adapting classroom activities to suit individual learning styles, encouraging positive behaviour, facilitating communication, and contributing to sensory, play-based, or therapeutic interventions. The role may also involve offering personal care or mobility support when required, ensuring that each pupil can access the curriculum and participate fully in school life.
