We are seeking to appoint an events coordinator from September 2025. This is a new role at King’s and is an exciting opportunity to support the successful delivery of major events across the school. The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills and will work with teaching staff and professional services staff to ensure that events are coordinated and arranged such that they run smoothly and successfully. The post will involve working closely with all stakeholders within the King’s community, including staff, pupils, visitors and parents. This is a full-time role working 40 hours per week.
Key responsibilities include:
A/V Support
* Set up and operate audio-visual equipment for daily classroom use, assemblies, meetings, and small-scale events.
* Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues with audio-visual equipment, including projectors, screens, microphones, speakers, and video conferencing systems.
* Maintain and repair audio-visual equipment, ensuring its proper functioning.
* Assist the A/V Project Manager in the setup and operation of audio-visual systems for larger events, such as concerts, plays, and conferences.
* Provide technical support to teaching staff and students on the use of audiovisual equipment.
* Maintain inventory of all audio-visual equipment and consumables.
IT Support
* Provide first-line IT support to staff and students, including troubleshooting
* computer hardware and software issues and in particular with AV issues.
* Assist with the installation and maintenance of computer hardware and software.
* Support the school’s network infrastructure, including troubleshooting network connectivity issues.
* Assist with the management of user accounts and permissions.
* Provide basic help desk support to staff and students including staffing drop in sessions
General
* Work flexibly to accommodate the needs of the school, including evening and weekend work for events.
* Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
* Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with school policies and safety guidelines.
* Contribute to the continuous improvement of IT and A/V services within the school.
Essential skills and experience
* Proven experience in providing technical support for audio-visual equipment.
* Basic understanding of IT support principles and practices.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Strong problem-solving1 and troubleshooting skills.
* Ability to work flexibly and adapt to changing priorities.
Desirable skills and experience
* Experience with industry-standard A/V software and control systems.
* Knowledge of networking principles and protocols.
* Experience with Microsoft Office Suite and other common software applications.
* Relevant industry certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, AVIXA certifications).
