Clements Young are currently looking to recruit an operations manager, our client specialists in groundworks, dedicated to providing high-quality installation services for underground tanks, drainage pipes, and pumps. This role is crucial in overseeing daily operations, ensuring projects are completed efficiently and to the highest standards. The Operations Manager will play a key role in driving mission of delivering exceptional service and quality to our client.

Salary: £53,600 - £56,500 a year

Key Responsibilities

* Oversee 2–3 installation teams across multiple project sites

* Lead initial consultations with property owners, explaining environmental initiatives clearly

* Conduct site surveys and assess existing drainage systems

* Ensure compliance with all regulatory and quality standards

* Supervise system commissioning and manage client handovers

* Liaise with admin teams to ensure accurate documentation and reporting

* Manage project timelines, team schedules, and resource planning

* Perform quality checks and address technical issues promptly

* Foster strong relationships with clients, local authorities, and other stakeholders

Essential Qualifications & Experience

* A minimum of 5 years’ experience in managing construction projects from planning through to completion

* GCSEs in Maths and English at grade C or above (or equivalent qualifications)

* Proven ability to oversee and coordinate multiple field or installation teams (typically 2–3 teams or more)

* Strong client-facing experience with a focus on delivering excellent customer service

* Skilled in preparing, reviewing, and interpreting technical documentation and assessments

* Must hold a valid UK driving licence (required for operating company vehicles)

* Solid understanding of environmental compliance, particularly in relation to wastewater treatment, discharge regulations (e.g. General Binding Rules), and Building Regulations Part H

* Hands-on experience with implementing and adhering to Health & Safety protocols in field-based environments

* Willing to work flexibly, including occasional evenings or weekends to accommodate client needs
