Role
Vocational Skills Curriculum Manager, managing the vocational curriculum at HMP Hindley. The team covers catering, construction, barbering, cleaning and self‑employment. This role is offered on a permanent, full‑time basis, working 37 hours per week.
We are looking for someone who has experience delivering Level 1 and Level 2 in catering or construction accredited courses and has worked with awarding organisations supporting internal and external quality assurance.
Site Information
HMP Hindley is a Prison and Young Offender Institution (YOI) based in Bickershaw near Wigan, Greater Manchester. The resettlement prison has capacity for 600 young adults (18–25 years old) and adult males. It is committed to providing a safe and educational environment where its prisoners can learn new skills to help them on release.

Qualifications & Experience
To be successful in this role, you will need:
* Teaching qualification – minimum Cert Ed or PGCE
* Degree or equivalent (including equivalent life / career experience)
* Hold at least a Level 2 qualification in Literacy and Numeracy
* Track record of implementing continuous quality assurance procedures
* Track record of successful partnership working
* Effective communication and interpersonal skills
* Ability to motivate and enthuse teams
* Organisational skills to prioritise workload to meet challenging deadlines and targets
* Analysing trends and identifying impact on curriculum
* IT skills
