Quest Search & Selection are currently working with this omnichannel retail fashion business who have over 150 stores and a strong presence online and also via their member's club. Reporting into the MD, you will oversee the full Buying and Design cycle for Womenswear.
This role is in a remote part of the UK within the North-East so would require someone to relocate or be based on location Monday-Friday.
Key responsibilities of this Buying Director– Womenswear:
* Develop and execute the comprehensive commercial product strategy across all product categories.
* Collaborate with the Merchandise Director to oversee the critical path, ensuring timely delivery of all projects and tasks.
* Leading a team of 5-8 Buyers and Designers and oversee the end to end Buying Cycle
* Also oversee the shipping and operational coordinator
* Managing a budget of 150 – 200 million
* Maintain and manage all product development tools, such as margin reports, trackers, cost breakdowns, and packaging.
* Buying for all stores, concessions and online.
* Conduct research on current trends, identifying opportunities and risks for the business.
* Lead the product life cycle, ensuring adherence to timelines by all teams including sourcing via Far-East & Asian hubs.
* Establish and uphold quality standards, ensuring correct garment composition and construction.
* Drive the front-end product development strategy across functions, ensuring progress in sampling, fabric selection, and pricing in line with required deadlines and meetings.
* Maintain quality standards without compromising margins.
* Possess a strong customer orientation with a deep understanding of the market.
Key requirements of this Buying Director– Womenswear:
* Experience in leading design, sourcing, development, buying, and technical teams would be ideal.
* Demonstrate a credible background in Buying across both womenswear and menswear.
* Have a visionary approach for the business.
* Exhibit an excellent eye for product.
* Demonstrate excellent product knowledge.
* Be an outstanding communicator and hands-on approach to tasks.
* Possess effective negotiation and networking skills at all levels.
* Be results-oriented and target-focused.
