We are looking for an experienced Environmental Protection Officer to join our client'steam on a short-term basis (3-6 months) to support our Environmental Crime, Air Quality, and Nuisance service in Hampshire. You will play a key role in investigating and resolving environmental crime issues, including fly-tipping, waste offences, statutory nuisance complaints, and air quality matters.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Investigate reports of fly tipping, waste accumulations, abandoned vehicles, and other environmental crimes.
2. Carry out inspections and gather evidence to take enforcement action where appropriate.
3. Investigate statutory nuisance complaints, including noise, odour, and air quality issues, and take necessary action in line with legislation.
4. Undertake air quality monitoring and contribute to maintaining or improving local air quality standards.
5. Prepare and serve legal notices, and contribute to prosecutions and legal proceedings as required.
