Overview
Group IT Support Engineer. This position serves as the primary customer-facing representative of the IT department, responsible for responding to support requests logged through the service desk application. As a key member of the IT team, you will manage service desk tickets, deliver timely and effective support to our user base, and collaborate closely with colleagues to ensure smooth IT operations.
You will work with cutting-edge cloud technologies and play an active role in promoting and enforcing information security best practices across the organization. Cybersecurity is central to our operations, and you will contribute to maintaining our ISO27001:2022 Information Security certification and driving continuous improvement.
The role directly reports to the Head of Group IT and Information Security.
This role also includes working from our London office at least one day per week on a rota basis, ensuring IT support is visible and accessible to remote staff.
Responsibilities
* Serve as the primary customer-facing representative of the IT department and respond to support requests logged through the service desk application.
* Manage service desk tickets, deliver timely and effective support to the user base, and collaborate with colleagues to ensure smooth IT operations.
* Work with cloud technologies and promote information security best practices across the organization.
* Contribute to maintaining ISO27001:2022 Information Security certification and drive continuous improvement.
* Report to the Head of Group IT and Information Security and participate in office-based visibility for remote staff (London office on a rota).
Skills & Qualifications
* Technically confident and proactive with strong proficiency in Microsoft Windows 11; able to troubleshoot and support end-user environments.
* Working knowledge of the Microsoft 365 suite—including Exchange, SharePoint, OneDrive, and emerging tools such as Copilot—alongside hands-on experience building and configuring Windows laptops and joining devices to an Active Directory domain.
* Ability to handle physical IT equipment to support office moves and hardware setups; familiarity with configuring and supporting Apple iOS devices, particularly iPhones.
* Strong interpersonal skills, collaborative mindset, and genuine eagerness to learn and support others.
* Ability to follow instructions accurately, work effectively within established processes, and demonstrate self-motivation and proactive teamwork.
* Clear and confident written and verbal communication; proactive IT deployment, including implementing solutions and applying patches efficiently.
* Creative problem-solving skills and ability to develop innovative solutions that enhance and support remote working environments.
Contract & Benefits
* Contract; Permanent, full-time role, Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week.
* Location: Hybrid working — 3 days in the Farnborough office, 1 of these 3 days in the London Office (rota), and 2 days from home.
