Registered General Nurse for our 41-bed Nursing Home
About the home:
A large care home (with nursing facilities) in Hove, BN3 housing a maximum of 41 individuals, houses younger and elderly adults including people with mental health conditions and also accepts individuals with dementia and physical disabilities.
1. Available Hours:36 hours per week
2. Paid breaks
3. Day shifts, Night shift
4. Pay rate: £20-£21.5 per hour
5. Location: Brighton area
Our qualified nursing team are available 24 hours a day to provide medical and other forms of specialised support. Respecting older people and recognising each resident as a unique individual, our nurses provide not just high-quality nursing skills, but truly person-centred care.
About the Role:
Some of the responsabilities:
6. Assess, plan and deliver, with the patient and their carer/family, nursing care which takes account of patient choice and wishes and acting as the patients named nurse.
7. Accurately observe and engage with patients in order to assess their need and evaluate their progress.
8. Monitor and review Nursing Care plans.
9. Evaluate and respond to changes in patient condition and needs.
10. Deal proactively and effectively with suggestions and complaints from patients and their families / carers.
11. Contribute to a team approach to patient care in conjunction with all members of the Multi-Disciplinary team.
12. Participate in regular clinical and non-clinical meetings and attend other meetings as requested.
13. Prioritise nursing duties and delegate appropriately and effectively within the shift co-ordination Framework, working as nurse in charge as required, ensuring as far as reasonable practicable a safe environment.
14. Develops and maintains a good professional relationship with patients, colleagues and visitors responding promptly and courteously to requests, enquiries and suggestions.
15. Helps to promote and to maintain an environment conducive to meeting the needs of the patient / relatives and carers.
16. Participate in clinical supervision and reflective practice at least Monthly.
17. Work in accordance with safeguarding adult and children policies and requirements.
18. Ensure the requirements of the Mental Health, Capacity Act and Deprivation of Liberty Standards are met.
19. Planning, implementing, and supervising the provision of quality care
20. Maintaining the required medical documentation
21. Upholding residents’ rights to privacy, dignity and choice
22. Reporting any ill health among the residents and request professional visits when necessary
23. Familiarizing yourself with, and strictly adhering to, company policy and procedure and Care Inspectorate guidelines
24. Abiding by the Nursing and Midwifery Council’s (NMC’S) code of professional conduct
Please note we are only accepting candidates with a UK active PIN, experience i the UK at least 1 yea
Requirements
The main requirements for this role are:
25. *Must be a registered nurse (current PIN number with NMC)
26. *A genuine desire to work with the elderly
27. *The ability to communicate clearly and concisely, along with excellent listening skills
28. *The ability to supervise other staff members comfortably and competently
29. *Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
30. *Someone with a calm nature who can deal with, and defuse, challenging situations
31. *Knowledgeable about assessment, admission and discharge processes
32. *Knowledgeable of the Mental Capacity Act and Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards and committed to working within its Codes of Practice.
33. *Ability to remain calm and composed in high-stress situations
34. *Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
