Senior Residential Support Workers – Responsibilities and Role
Our children's home in Whiston, Rotherham is recruiting for Senior Residential Support Workers. We are looking for enthusiastic, caring and passionate people to become an integral part of our support team. In this role, you will support our young people and be responsible for providing compassionate care. The role also involves supporting the Registered Manager to run a successful staff team and overseeing the day‑to‑day operation of the home.

Our home is a medium‑to‑long‑term placement for up to 5 young people. It can offer placements for young people aged 8 to 19 years of age with emotional and behavioural difficulties. The environment is homely and the staff team is dedicated to providing a caring, nurturing setting that enables the young people to enjoy and achieve.
Due to the location of this role, you must have access to your own transport with a full UK driving licence.

Qualifications and Attributes
A Level 3 or 4 qualification in Children’s Residential and Childcare is essential, as well as previous experience within a residential childcare setting, along with the following characteristics:
* Resilience – We support some of the most vulnerable children in society who have varying degrees of emotional, behavioural difficulties, autism, ADHD and associated challenges. Your resilience will be tested at times.
* Communication – Communicating with our young people is vital to understand their needs. Good teamwork and communication play a key part in ensuring important information is relayed to other staff.
* Organisation – Supervising the staff team will require you to be confident and organised in updating care plans and reporting information relevant to the care of our young people.
* Caring – Our young people require the best care we can offer. If you are naturally caring and compassionate, this is the role for you.
* Attentive – No young person is the same; being attentive helps you understand them and identify areas where we can support.
