Housing Enforcement Manager
Day rate: £31 per hour (Inside IR35)
Contract position: Initially 3 months (strong view to extend)
East Midlands
Hybrid – 2 days on site per week
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Housing Enforcement Manager to lead and manage a local authority's Housing Enforcement Service, driving improvements in housing standards and tackling rogue landlords in the private rented sector.
Role Overview – Housing Enforcement Manager:
* Develop, direct and manage the Housing Enforcement Service to improve housing conditions and landlord compliance.
* Oversee licensing and regulation of Houses in Multiple Occupation (HMOs).
* Lead enforcement activity including civil penalties, prosecutions, and rent repayment orders.
* Manage and motivate a multi-disciplinary team, ensuring high performance and compliance with legislation.
* Work collaboratively with internal teams and external stakeholders to deliver joined-up housing solutions.
Candidate Profile:
* Extensive experience in housing enforcement and private sector housing regulation.
* Strong knowledge of housing legislation and enforcement powers.
* Proven leadership and team management skills.
* Ability to develop effective partnerships and deliver service improvements.
Qualifications:
* Degree in Environmental Health or equivalent professional qualification.
* Experience managing budgets and delivering value for money.
