An exciting new opportunity has arisen for a dedicated Clinical Psychologist to join an excellent learning disability service based in Kendal, Cumbria. You will work for one of the UK's leading healthcare providers.
This service offers specialized support for individuals with challenging behavior and high support needs, aiming to care for them in the least restrictive yet structured environment that meets their ongoing needs and risks.
Requirements:
To be considered for this position, you must be:
* Registered with the HCPC
* Hold a BPS accreditation
* Be a Chartered Member of the BPS
Key Responsibilities:
1. Participate in referral assessments and provide initial evaluations for service users.
2. Undertake high-quality direct (assessment & therapeutic) and indirect (consultative, advisory, evaluative) psychological interventions, making autonomous clinical decisions.
3. Work therapeutically with service users with complex presentations, using a broad range of structured psychometric and semi-structured clinical methods for assessment.
4. Formulate and implement psychological treatment or management plans based on a multifactorial understanding and current evidence-based practices.
5. Maintain professional and legal responsibility and accountability for all aspects of clinical work and care.
Preferred Skills and Experience:
* Understanding of evidence-based psychological practice.
* Experience applying psychological knowledge in clinical or neuro settings.
* Experience working with clients with cognitive deficits.
* Previous experience in research and project work.
Salary and Benefits:
The successful candidate will receive an excellent salary of £70,000 per annum. This is a permanent, full-time role working day shifts. Benefits include:
