Our small and long established acoustics & engineering consultancy has an exciting opportunity for an Acoustic Consultant / Technician to take a lead role in day to day activities under the guidance of an experienced acoustician/owner. We will consider candidates who wish to work either full or part-time; with a variety of acoustic related experience.
Working across Devon & Cornwall you will predominantly undertake Sound Insulation Design & Testing, Noise Impact Assessments, Noise at Work Surveys, and Environmental Surveys.
Ideally candidates will have all or some of the following skills and qualifications:
* Membership of the Institute of Acoustics (IOA) - Technician / Associate Grade or higher.
* IOA Diploma in Acoustics or relevant degree level qualification.
* Certificates of Competence in Building Acoustics / Sound Insulation Testing.
* Practical experience of undertaking Sound Insulation Testing on dwellings ideally to ANC guidelines.
* Knowledge of relevant national standards and guidelines including BS4142, BS8233, ProPG: Planning & Noise, Building Regulations Part E, and The Control of Noise at Work Regulations.
* Familiar with the use of sound level meters and associated equipment.
* A confident and organised self-starter able to work on your own.
* Proficient with the use of MS Office suite.
* Mathematically competent with high standards in accuracy and quality.
* Awareness of Health & Safety on construction & industrial sites with the ability to write Risk Assessments and Method Statements.
* Strong interpersonal skills, written and oral communication skills.
* Full driving licence.
