Role Overview:
As an Economics Teacher, you will deliver engaging and structured lessons primarily at Key Stage 5. You will work closely with colleagues within the business and social sciences faculty to deliver a rigorous and engaging curriculum. The role involves planning lessons that promote independent learning, assessing student progress regularly, and ensuring that all learners are supported to achieve their academic goals.
Key Responsibilities:
* Plan and deliver high-quality economics lessons aligned with examination board requirements.
* Teach Key Stage 5 students, supporting them in developing analytical, mathematical, and evaluative skills.
* Assess and monitor student progress, providing timely and constructive feedback.
* Prepare students effectively for internal and external examinations.
* Develop engaging teaching materials and contribute to curriculum planning.
* Support students with coursework, revision, and exam preparation strategies.
* Maintain accurate records of attendance, achievement, and assessment outcomes.
* Participate in parents’ evenings, open days, and student support activities.
* Uphold safeguarding policies and promote student welfare at all times.
Skills and Experience:
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
* Degree in economics or a closely related subject such as finance or business.
* Strong knowledge of Key Stage 5 economics curriculum and assessment methods.
* Ability to explain complex concepts clearly and effectively.
* Excellent classroom management and organisational skills.
* Strong communication skills and ability to motivate post-16 learners.
* Commitment to continuous professional development and reflective teaching practice.
