Assistant Director of Repairs
Salary: £80,000
Location: Northampton
Hybrid working: 2 days office / 3 days from home

My client provide safe, decent well maintained homes for thousands of residents. They’re looking for an Assistant Director of Repairs on a full time, permanent basis to lead one of their most vital services and help shape the future of housing in Northamptonshire.

As the Assistant Director of Repairs, your role will be to lead and inspire a large, multi-disciplinary service with over 100 people throughout Repairs, Voids Manager and Commercial teams overseeing responsive repairs, voids, disrepair and planned maintenance.
As part of the Senior Management Team, you will play a key role in delivering the corporate plan, shaping strategy, influencing at Board level and ensuring services carried out are compliant, efficient, customer-focused and financially robust.
Day to day responsibilities include
* Strategic Leadership, setting the direction for repairs services, aligning long-term planning with organisational goals.
* Contributing to corporate strategy and provide expert advice to the Board and Committees.
* Lead service transformation and continuous improvement programmes.
* Operational excellence, overseeing the day to day delivery of responsive repairs, voids and cyclical maintenance ensuring homes are safe, compliant and maintained to statutory and regulatory standards.
* Champion their customer first approach, including managing escalated complaints and disrepair cases.
* Ensure empty homes are turned around efficiently and to agreed standards.
* Establishing and monitoring KPIs, performance standards and benchmarking.
* Produce high-quality reports for senior leaders, Board and regulators.
* Act as responsible officer for emergency repairs and out of hours services.
* Commercial and financial control, leading on budget management, ensuring value for money and strong financial oversight.
Overseeing procurement, contract management and performance of contractors and consultants.
Overall, success in this role includes leading high performing repairs service with a strong focus on compliance and risk management.
Measuring service improvements and efficiency gains whilst leading and engaging teams
