Hexagon Recruitment are recruiting on behalf of our client, a respected and fast-growing Transport & Logistics company based in Thurrock for a motivated Accounts Assistant with strong Xero software experience.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing, business. You’ll play a key role in keeping the numbers running smoothly behind a successful logistics operation.
The Role
As an Accounts Assistant, you’ll be responsible for:
* Managing purchase and sales ledgers in Xero
* Processing invoices, payments, and receipts accurately and efficiently
* Completing bank reconciliations and ensuring financial data is up to date
* Assisting with credit control and supplier queries
* Preparing weekly and monthly financial reports
* Supporting month-end tasks, including accruals and journals
* Assisting with VAT returns, payroll prep, and expenses
* Working closely with the Transport and Operations teams to support smooth financial processes
About You
* Experience as an Accounts Assistant, Finance Administrator, or similar
* Confident user of Xero accounting software (essential)
* AAT Level 3 qualified or above
* Excellent attention to detail and organisation skills
* Solid understanding of purchase/sales ledger and reconciliations
* Strong Excel and Microsoft Office skills
* Clear communicator — professional and confident with colleagues and suppliers
Desirable (but not essential)
* Previous experience in the Transport or Logistics industry
* Knowledge of invoice factoring, subcontractor payments, or fuel card reconciliation
