Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Sales Representative to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for fulfilling incoming Sales Enquiries and also creating leads to widen the customer base.
Duties
* Accepting a sales enquiry by a variety of methods, in person, phone enquiries, through emailed cutting lists or from a fabrication drawings or architects drawings.
* Checking the stock levels of required material and determining the cost price
* Preparation of a quote to return a margin and take account of fabrication costs, painting, material offcut wastage, and transport.
* Follow up on quotations
* Convert successful quotations to a Materials pick list
* Issue instructions to the drawing office for more complex fabrications
* Prepare invoice and delivery notes accordingly
* Track more complex fabrication projects through the drawing office and workshop, keep the customer informed of delivery dates
* Take due note of the routine delivery routes within a given week, call up regular customers on the proposed route to enquire of any further requirements
* Deal with any customer queries or delivery issues promptly
* If time permits, make contact with potential new sales leads to widen the customer base.
* Maintain contact with the credit control staff to ensure the customer leads are viable.
Requirements
* Proven experience in a sales role, preferably within the steel sector or the construction industry .
* Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple enquiries simultaneously.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) stock control database and accounts packages.
* Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
* Attention to detail and strong analytical abilities.
* Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
* A qualification in Business Administration, retail or a related field is preferred but not essential.
