The Opportunity
We are looking for a
Product Designer
to join our UK product team, working across mobile apps (iOS and Android), web dashboards, and charger HMI interfaces for the EU and US markets. You will report to the Head of Product and work closely with our Software/UX Product Manager, who provides briefs and coordinates with development teams at our R&D headquarters in China.
This is a hands-on execution role in a company that is actively building its design capability for Western markets. You will take product briefs and rough wireframes, then produce interaction flows and high-fidelity screens. Our products support the full EV charger lifecycle: installation and commissioning by professional electricians, day-to-day use by EV drivers, and fleet management by charge point operators. You are expected to push back on requirements that don't make sense from a user perspective.
A significant part of this role involves designing real-world hardware constraints. You need to think about what happens when things go wrong, not just the happy path: dropped connections, firmware mismatches, offline devices, and field error states are everyday design challenges.

Key Responsibilities
1. Product Design Execution
* Take product briefs and rough wireframes from the Product Manager and produce complete interaction flows, state maps, and high-fidelity UI screens for the EU and US markets.
* Design across mobile apps (iOS and Android), web-based charge point management dashboards, and charger HMI display interfaces.
* Think in states and edge cases: what happens when a connection drops, a session fails to start; a device goes offline, or firmware is out of date.
2. Cross-Functional Collaboration
* Work closely with the Software/UX Product Manager to translate product requirements into user-centered designs.
* Collaborate with R&D software teams and product designers at our China headquarters to ensure designs are technically feasible and aligned with platform capabilities.
* Push back constructively on requirements that compromise user experience or introduce unnecessary complexity.
3. Scalable Designs and Multi-Brand/White label Output
* Execute designs that can be adapted for different partner brands and white-label configurations—the same core product may appear under multiple customer identities across different markets.
What We're Looking For
* Experience:
2+ years designing mobile apps for iOS or Android.
* Tools:
Strong Figma skills with components and auto layout.
* Thinking:
Ability to design states and flows, not just static screens. You understand error handling, loading states, and offline scenarios.
* Platform fluency:
Comfortable designing within iOS and Android conventions, with a working knowledge of accessibility principles
Bonus Points
* You have designed physical/connected products: IoT devices, smart home, EV charging, or industrial hardware where the app talks to a device, and things don't always go smoothly.
* You have designed tools for professionals doing a job in the field, not just consumer apps.
* You are familiar with using AI tools to accelerate your design workflow— content, UX writing, or ideation.
* You speak or read Mandarin.
* You have worked on products that get adapted or white-labelled for different partner brands.
