Are you passionate about making a meaningful difference in the lives of children with additional needs? We are working with a specialist SEND school in Bingham to find a SEND Teaching Assistant to join their team.
This unique provision, set in woodland and farm-based environments, offers bespoke education to children with complex trauma, mental health, behavioural, and attachment needs. The school fosters a nurturing, therapeutic space where children can feel safe, grow emotionally, and progress academically, guided by a model emphasizing Playfulness, Love, Acceptance, Curiosity, and Empathy.
The school's mission includes promoting respect for authority figures and developing emotional insight and self-management. They prioritize outdoor learning and aim to enhance the personal development of their students through this approach.
As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will:
* Support pupils across all Key Stages, including those with Autism (ASD), Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD), and SEMH needs
* Collaborate with teachers and therapists to deliver tailored interventions
* Engage and inspire pupils using the natural environment
* Bring patience, empathy, and resilience to support young learners
* Manage challenging behaviours proactively and confidently
You’ll need:
* Experience working with children or young people with additional needs
* Confidence in supporting students with SEMH and behavioural challenges
* A relevant Level 2 or 3 qualification (CACHE or equivalent)
* Team-Teach or MAPA training (desirable but not essential)
