Project Director

Location: East Midlands Region, onsite in Derby
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Project Director to join our Midlands team. To be considered you will have previous experience in civils project delivery, in both pre-construction and construction stages. Strong experience of RC works, drainage, groundworks and highways. Prior experience working in high profile, tier 1 environment with multiple other contractors. Able to work under own initiative. Can-do attitude. Assertive Manager and team motivator. Able to work under pressure to tight deadlines. Ability to train, mentor and coach multi-disciplined teams. Ability to build collaborative relationships at all levels.
The Project Director will be responsible to oversee either higher value, fast turnover or complex delivery programmes. They will be accountable for every aspect of the project / framework, including the planning, execution, monitoring, control and closure within agreed timeframes and budgets and in accordance with Galldris Management system and contract, client and stakeholder requirements.
Key Accountabilities to include but not limited to:
* Lead the end-to-end delivery of large-scale construction and infrastructure projects over a long-term framework within a live secure operational environment
* Manage a multidisciplinary project team through PCSA, construction, and handover stages to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, to budget, and in full compliance with contract, client and stakeholder requirements
* Work closely with other client appointed delivery partners and specialists
* Manage multi-disciplinary design, engineering, and delivery teams, fostering collaboration and performance excellence
* Drive project controls, commercial management, risk mitigation, and reporting
* Build strong relationships with client representatives and key stakeholders at all levels
* Promote and uphold a culture of safety, sustainability, and continuous improvement
* Identify opportunities for innovation, digital delivery, and carbon reduction across the project lifecycle
Mandatory Skills & Qualifications:
* A successful track record of leading large-scale (£50m+) construction or infrastructure projects (preferably within live operational environments)
* Demonstrated ability to manage complex interfaces and technical challenges
* Commitment to collaborative working and continuous improvement
* Strong knowledge and experience of NEC contracts and project governance
* Detailed knowledge of the requirements and implementation of CDM Regulations and Health, Safety, Quality and Environmental systems
* Experience in presenting detailed reports to Clients and Senior Management
* HND or Degree in Civil Engineering or similar
* Member of an appropriate professional body (ICE/IStructE/CIOB/CIHT/RICS) is desirable
