Year 2 Teaching Assistant- Ashton in Makerfield
Milk Education are working with a primary school in Ashton in Makerfield (WN4) who are seeking a full-time temporary Year 2 Teaching Assistant to support within the year 2 class.
This Year 2 Teaching Assistant role is starting immediately and will be a temporary, long-term role July 2026.
The School are looking for someone who is patient, nurturing and accommodating to the child’s learning needs for this Year 2 Teaching Assistant position. The hours of work are 08:30am- 15:30pm, Monday to Friday.
This Year 2 Teaching Assistant role will involve keeping the child on task and ensuring that the work they doing is being done to a good standard. You will be responsible for getting resources ready for the day and ensure the child’s needs are being met. In this KS1 Teaching Assistant role you will provide a patient and nurturing learning environment for the child. You must have strong behaviour management.
Teaching Assistant- Role & Responsibilities:
1. Promote inclusion and acceptance of all children
2. Support children consistently whilst responding to their individual needs
3. Work with the teacher in lesson planning, evaluating and adjusting lessons/plans as appropriate
4. Deliver catch-up sessions
Teaching Assistant Level- Non-negotiables:
5. Must have recent/relevant experience working with children and young people, within the past two years
6. Must have a passion for education
7. Must possess good numeracy and literacy skills
8. Must have the ability to work under the guidance of the teacher
9. Must be reliable and punctual
