 
        
        Principal Clinical Psychologist (Band 8b) – Adult Mental Health Development Stepped Care Initiative (18.75 hrs)
Based in Central. This role is part of an initiative to increase access to psychological therapies across stepped‑care services in North Wales, providing leadership in development, training, supervision, and multidisciplinary support.
Main Duties
 * Develop and deliver stepped‑care psychological therapies for adult mental health.
 * Provide clinical leadership, training and supervision to multidisciplinary staff.
 * Support access initiatives, including primary‑care mental health pathways.
 * Advocate for integration of psychological services within the health board.
 * Engage in research and networking opportunities across North and All Wales.

Personal Specification
Qualifications and Knowledge
 * Registration with HCPC as a Clinical Psychologist.
 * Good Honours degree in Psychology (eligible for BPS Chartered status).
 * Advanced training in research design and methodology (desirable).
 * Record of publications in peer‑reviewed journals (desirable).
 * Ability to speak Welsh (desirable).
Experience
 * Substantial supervised post‑qualification expertise within adult mental health.
 * Experience delivering clinical and training services independently.
Aptitude and Abilities
 * Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with empathy and reassurance.
 * Capability to convey complex/sensitive information in a highly emotive environment.
 * Ability to prepare and present clinical and academic material for lecturing/training purposes.
