We are seeking a skilled and motivated Project Design Engineer to join our clients team in Camberley, Surrey. The Project Design Engineer will play a crucial role in designing, engineering, and developing cost-effective and practical structural solutions primarily in steel, glass, and ETFE materials. The successful candidate will utilise their expertise to create structural 2D and 3D models, produce design calculations, and develop connection designs and details in accordance with current building regulations and industry standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Proven experience of working with steelwork, from design through to fabrication and installation is essential.
Understand and interpret architectural and structural drawings is essential.
Ability to create sketch details by hand or using AutoCAD to effectively communicate information to the project team.
Conduct detailed analysis and design to ensure structural integrity and safety.
Attend site visits when necessary to assess project requirements and ensure design solutions meet on-site conditions.
Complete Design Risk Assessments in accordance with specific project requirements to identify and mitigate potential design risks.
Keep up to date with the development of UK and European engineering, building, and design standards, as well as new software used to perform job duties.
Experience of using Rstab, IDEA Statica, Mepla, and AutoCAD or similar software.
Qualifications
Degree or equivalent in Civil or Structural Engineering, or relevant experience.
Membership or working towards membership of a relevant professional body such as IStructE or ICE is desirable.
